Mole & Wart Removal in Islamabad

Assessed first, then removed

In plain terms

Understanding mole & wart removal

  1. What it is

Removing a raised lesion from the skin, either because it causes trouble or because it is unwanted. A wart is a viral growth. A mole is a collection of pigment cells. They are different things, and the important difference is that a mole is examined before anything at all is done to it.

  2. What it helps with

Warts that spread, catch or hurt. Moles that rub against clothing or a razor, or that you simply want gone. Other benign lesions such as seborrhoeic keratoses, which people very often assume are moles.

  3. What happens in the session

The lesion is examined with a dermatoscope first. If it is clearly benign, the area is numbed with local anaesthetic and it is removed, usually by shave excision or cautery and occasionally by excision with stitches. Most take under twenty minutes and are done at the same visit.

  4. How the result comes in

A small scab that lifts away over one to two weeks, leaving a pink mark that fades across several months. Warts sometimes need more than one session, because the virus can persist in the skin immediately around them.

  5. Worth knowing before you book

Any mole whose features are not clearly benign is sent for histopathology rather than removed and discarded, because destroying a lesion without examining it can throw away a diagnosis. There will be a mark where it was. That is the trade, and it is usually a good one.
